VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT - Road Safety

Traffic concerns that require immediate attention should be called in to the dispatch center and an officer will be dispatched as needed.  The department also recognizes that traffic safety concerns may exist in your neighborhood such as crosswalks and signage that you wish to review.   The department reviews all traffic concerns to assess safety issues and to develop recommendations that may require consultation with staff form the engineering, Planning or School Departments.

The Police Department often monitors speeding concerns throughout the town and responds to complaints with extra enforcement.

In an effort to reduce the number of crashes related to commercial motor vehicles, officers perform safety inspections on commercial vehicles and enforce traffic with an emphasis on violations by commercial motor vehicles and passenger vehicles interacting with large trucks.

The Boxford Police Department is always concerned with the safety of all our drivers and passengers on the roadway.  Operating Under the Influence and Distracted Driving are the two leading causes of accidents and we will strictly enforce the law.
