Chief's Message:

On behalf of the Boxford Police Department, I welcome your interest in your police department.  We are extremely proud of our community and our low crime rate.  

We have approximately 25 sworn Full Time and Reserve Officers.

Boxford has a highly trained and dedicated police staff that is committed to providing our residents with professional police service.  It is my goal to maintain a proactive approach in ensuring a safe and peaceful community.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Boxford has the second largest land area in Essex county and is located near the geographic center of the County, with Boxford Center about 10 miles (16km) southeast of Lawrence and 24 Miles (39km) north of Boston.  The town is bordered by Haverhill to the north, Groveland to the northeast, Georgetown and Rowley to the east, Ipswich and Topsfield to the southeast, Middleton to the southwest and North Andover to the west.

The eastern end of Boxford is crossed by Interstate 95, with three exits lying within the town.  Route 133 crosses through the northern part of town, from North Andover to Georgetown, and Route 97 crosses through the eastern part of town, from Topsfield to Georgetown.

Boxford has a land area of 244 square miles with a population of approximately 8,000.
