Update Lockwood Lane Bridge Reconstruction

Unfortunately our initial expectation that the Lockwood Lane Bridge would be rebuilt by the end of this year will not be met. The design has been completed and approved by the Boxford Historical Commission and the Boxford Conservation Commission. It is now being evaluated at the State level. Once it has the necessary approvals from the State, we will solicit construction bids. We are also anticipating that the bids are going to be higher than initially estimated, and we may need to hold a Special Town Meeting to secure the additional funding.

Revised information indicates that with construction starting in the spring, the new bridge will likely not be completed until the end of the summer. This delay is not what anyone wanted or expected, and we apologize to all those affected by the closure. We will continue to push this project forward as quickly as we reasonably can.
