Description

Several years ago, the Town installed a dry hydrant on Lily Pond.  The hydrant was actually installed on private property, and the owners of 791 Main Street requested a formal agreement that could be recorded at the Registry of Deeds.  Obtaining an easement allows the Fire Department access to the hydrant on private property.   In November 2022 the Select Board entered into a temporary license agreement with the owners, with the intention of executing a permanent easement at May 9, 2023 Town Meeting.  The owners of 791 Main Street have generously offered the permanent easement at no cost to the Town.  

ARTICLE 20. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Select Board to acquire, by gift, or otherwise, a permanent easement for the purpose of access to and the right to operate, maintain, repair and replace a fire hydrant located at property known as 791 Main Street, Boxford; and, further, to authorize the Select Board to enter into all agreements and execute any and all instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the Town to carry out the purposes of this article, or take any other action thereon.
