Grab & Go Contactless Library Item Pick-up Service
Based on the now popular “Curbside Pick-up” service available at countless libraries around the country, the service allows patrons to access their requested library items without interacting with other patrons or Library staff, or in a timely fashion if pressed for time.
Who can participate? Any MVLC patron requesting items to be picked up here at the Boxford Town Library.
What can be put out on the cart? Any circulating item may be put out for pick-up on the cart (except those items that require a signed contract: Kindle, hotspot, etc. or trash stickers).
Where will the cart be located? The cart will be positioned just to the left of the interior vestibule doors on the way down the hall towards the Children’s Room.
When will the items be available for pick-up? A minimum of fifteen minutes after the Library Staff has received the Grab & Go request from the patron over the phone. The cart will be available only when the library is open to the public.
How does the service work?
- Call the Library to make your request (978-887-7323).
- The Library Staff will confirm availability and check out your item(s).
- The item(s) and a checkout receipt will be bagged and a tag with your name and date is attached.
- Your bag is then placed on the cart.
- Your bag is now ready for you to Grab & Go.
- Items left on the cart for more than five days will be removed on the sixth day and checked in to be reshelved or sent back to their home library.
