Boxford Celebrates Reading

Boxford Celebrates Reading

We hope your family will choose to participate in Boxford Celebrates Reading.  It is a fun way to celebrate the joy of reading with your child, as well as a great reason to visit the library!

All Boxford children of elementary school age (Ages 5-10 yrs old) attending public, private, or home school, are eligible to participate in Boxford Celebrates Reading.

How it works:

Step One: Read, Read, Read!!!

  • Each month, from September through May, you may download a copy of the Reading Calendar to record your child's reading time.  The Reading Calendar is available for download at the bottom of this page.  (Print copies are available at the Library upon request.  Ask a Library Staff person to print off a calendar if you need one.)
  • Your child completes the Celebrates Reading calendar by reading or being read to for at least 15 minutes a day, for a minimum of 20 days per month.
  • Once your child has met the goal, you sign the calendar.

Step Two: Exchange your completed Reading Calendar for a prize!

  • Return the signed Reading Calendar to the Children’s Room at the Boxford Town Library.
  • Exchange the Reading Calendar for the key to the Boxford Celebrates Reading treasure chest at the library.
  • Your child may choose ONE item from the box to celebrate having reached the monthly goal. Inside the box you will find books and a few other seasonal surprises to choose from as a reward.
