Department of Public Utility Hearings on National Grid
The Department of Public Utilities has released a schedule of public hearings across the state on public concerns about the response of National Grid to the power outages caused by the October 29, 2011 snowstorm.  As you recall much of Boxford was without electricity for several days until National Grid was able to restore power.  Many residents contacted our office to seek information on restoration efforts and to report concerns about the slow progress of National Grid.

The Department of Public Utilities is the regulatory oversight agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  These hearings are an opportunity for residents to express concerns and frustrations directly to the highest levels of this state regulatory agency and National Grid.  Residents are encouraged to attend the hearing and offer testimony or provide written testimony relating personal experiences of the sustained outage and offer comments on improved service.
